This article is about robots from Toxic series. For robots from other games, please see Robots.

Not to be confused with digbots.

Digging robots are enemies that appear in the Toxic series.

Appearance[]

Digging robots appear as drills. They have a yellow-and-black striped cone with a metal plate underneath. Underneath that is a pink circle, underneath that being a smaller, flat drill.

Attack[]

Digging robots appear only a few times in the entire Toxic Series. Sometimes they appear attached to metal on the ceiling, and sometimes are present in a line above an area with a very large amount of rock. If the player runs underneath one that is visible on the screen, the robot will immediately begin a swift downward fall. It will continue to move vertically, destroying any rock it comes to. If it touches the player, they will lose 1/4 of their health. Due to this, the best way for Toxic to trigger them without getting hurt is to run under them, and then either quickly run back or continue running forward. If the player goes under them but they are not visible on the screen, they will not drill down.

Upon meeting contact with any metal, they will explode in a small, blue (or red in the case of Toxic II) blast. They are helpful for making tunnels quickly, cutting down on the time Toxic takes to get to his destination using bombs.

Trivia[]

  • Non-Exploding Drill Glitch

    The glitch

When the robot explodes in Toxic I, the color of the explosion is blue. But in Toxic 2, the explosion is red.
  • There is a glitch in the game where the robot won't explode when it hits metal.
