A reason parameter will be added to Template:Revise.

People have been adding Template:Revise to pages, but I can't understand why. I find this is sometimes on pages which have been revised recently... sometimes. After Takeshi64 got a bit confused on how to use it, once, I think we should have a parameter where one can place why they think it should be revised. Because, if someone is trying to help the wiki and use the Category this template adds, they'll be confused on how to help page. --Talk to NOBODY  Eskimo 1 02:10, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Ah, that discussion... Yes, I think that's a good idea. Sometimes People add That because Of Randomly Capitalized words. 220px-Takeshi64_FN0_Font.pngTakeshi_running.gif 02:16, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
Well, it appears SQhi added it for horrifying structure, but that page was overflowing with randomly captialized words. 220px-Takeshi64_FN0_Font.pngTakeshi_running.gif 02:21, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
I experimented with adding a parameter before on the sandbox. I then came to the conclusion that if a user wanted to know why the template was added to the page, they would ask on the talk page itself.
Also, there are some issues where people have been adding the template to stubs. It's really only meant for pages that have been almost fully written but need a huge improvement. You really can't improve upon two well-written setences on a stub.  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 05:42, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
Why not save the lag time by just allowing our members to add the reason there and now. It is also cumbersome to search through the history to look at the edit summary for the reason. Adding the reasons parameter is the most efficient way. SQhi(talk)52k+54k edit 08:33, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

SQ: The "why" parameter has already been implemented in Template:Revise. Please open a new topic should you have issues with it. SQhi(talk)Ruby 16:27, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
