This article is about robots from Toxic series. For robots from other games, please see Robots.

Hive robots are enemies in the game Toxic II. Their only ability is spawning maggot bots.

Appearance[]

Hive robots have a half-circle "head", which is made of metal with three pink eyes placed with the smallest on top, the eyes getting bigger as they go down; the head is attached to a metal base.

Wires are seen often on the edges of of the robot except for the very bottom for the base. This probably means that it is a heavily programmed structure.

Game information[]

Hive robots are stationary on the ground, unable to move and placed far into a platform. Their only attack is to spawn maggot bots, out of both sides of it. Due to the speed at which it spawns them, and the bombs the player can be equipped with during the part of the level they are in, it is not possible to reach the Hive and destroy it without sustaining at least some damage. Due to the size of the maggot bots, and how close they are to other maggot bots, destroying one will cause the explosion to destroy another; and so on, creating a chain of explosions.

Not even this is capable of reaching the hive, as there is always one large space between a maggot bot in the line, which will cause the explosion not to reach the hive robot. If the hive robot is close enough to the player for them to chuck a bomb at it, the exploding bomb; when it explodes, will destroy the hive robot and halt the production of maggot bots. The hive robot's only purpose us to spawn maggot bots. They are only seen a couple times in the robot factory, and are always present when spawning maggot bots.
